Vermont: Where farms aren't just postcards.

Twice annually Vermont publishes a guidebook for visitors - Look for Vermont farms and farm experiences on the back cover of Vermont Winter Vacation Guide 2008. Learn about Vermont Farms! members - working farms that open their lives and farm experiences to visitors - on this website. Visit our farm partner organizations at their websites to learn more.

Christmas tree growing members provide unique holiday and family experiences - stay on a farm; cut your own tree; plant one in the spring and watch it grow until its ready for your home.

We include farm members of the Vermont Fresh Network, partnering great farm grown foods with preparation in Vermont's fine restaurants by top quality chefs.

We have many maple sugarmakers - pure Vermont maple syrup and products, sugarhouses open to the public, Maple Open House Weekend - a great Vermont tradition, March 28-30, 2008 - preceded by the annual Governor's Tree Tapping March 24.

Celebrate the abundance of Vermont farm products: eggs, milk, cheese, butter, meats, fiber and handmade apparel, and lotions year round ; new maple syrup in Spring; Summer brings vegetables, berries, fruits; Fall apples, pumpkins and Thanksgiving turkeys.

Stay with great Vermont farm cooks and enjoy the sounds, sights, smells, and warm hospitality of farm life. Sit down at farm tables and wander farm trails for skiing, skating, hiking, fishing, photography jaunts, enjoying family or visiting for special events.

And there's so much more on the farm - Pet and feed the animals: cats, poultry, cows, geese, sheep, llamas, horses, buffalo, goats, water buffalo, alpacas, emus, chickens and ducks.

Come learn how farmers live and what they do. Enjoy our great farm personalities and animal antics.
