Remember - many of our farms are open year-round! We may just rearrange our hours a bit, as we try to fit in meetings and vacations. Please check the hours at individual sites as you plan a winter visit. January is a big month for get-togethers, and the Vermont Farm Show in Barre attracts many farmers and others to central Vermont during the last week of January!
This is the time of year we work on our taxes - just like most folks! - and plan on visiting with others who work in the same types of agriculture. The Vermont Farm Show hosts the Dairy Banquet, the Maple Promotion Board Banquet, the Fruits and Vegetables Banquet, the Christmas Tree Banquet, the Sheep Breeders Banquet and many more!
It's also a little bit like a winter fair - there is friendly competition between farmers to win the blue ribbons for maple, honey, hay, eggs, bakery - just about any kind of product!
